Markus ENGELHORN the Elder "Marx" was born about
1580. He died 1650 in Hockenheim, Baden, Germany.
Markus the Elder, was a judge or magistrate in a lower court in Hockenheim in the years 1610, 1613, 1618 and 1621. He built the inn the "Silberne Kanne" in 1622, the oldest "Schildwirtshaus" in Hockenheim. He probably was also a tax or customs collector for the Palatinate in the customs house opposite the "Kanne". He had one child:

Markus ENGELHORN II "Marx" (parents) was born in 1605 in Hockenheim, Baden, Germany. He died in 1665 in Hockenheim, Baden, Germany.
“Marx” was innkeeper of the "Silberne Kanne" (Silver Tankard) and very
likely was also a customs collector. His house was destroyed in 1652
during the Thirty-years War.

3. Johann (Hans) Georg ENGELHORN I aka "Hans Jörg" (parents) was born about 1635 in Hockenheim. He died 11 Feb 1698 in Hockenheim, Mannheim, Baden, Germany.
He
was a citizen, Gerichtsverwandter, and tax or customs collector in Hockenheim.
He built the inn the "Guldene Engel" in 1690 for his second son, Johann
Jakob I. He was the first officially documented customs collector in
Hockenheim, named to the post in 1682. He was the only capable man in
Hockenheim who could be entrusted with collecting the customs duties.

Johann Georg (Hans Jörg) Engelhorn was innkeeper of the "Silberne Kanne" and mayor of Hockenheim, the youngest of all Hockenheim administrators. He served for 31 years from 1711 to 1742. That he, a Protestant, became mayor under the Catholic Elector, Karl Phillip, spoke for his ability.

Johann Jakob I was a Burger, customs collector and landlord of the "Guldene Engel". Johann had the Engelhorn seal and coat of arms.
Johann married Marie Elisabetha OCHS, daughter of Johann Marcus OCHS and Eva Maria SCHWECHHEIMER on 6 Mar 1696 in Lussheim, Baden, Germany. Marie was born 26 Aug 1676 in Lussheim. She died between 1749 and1754 in Hockenheim.

Jörg was the youngest of all the Hockenheim administrators, serving as mayor for 31 years from 1711 to 1742. He was also the innkeeper of the "Silberne Kanne" - the silver tankard. He shared the family seal and coat of arms with his brother, Johann Jakob Engelhorn I.
Jörg married (1) Christina Sophie SCHLOTTHAUER, daughter of Georg Ludwig and Anna Barbara SCHLOTTHAUER, in May 1699 in Leimen, Rhein-Nekar, Baden, Germany. Christina was born about 1675 in Leimen, Rhein-Nekar, Baden, Germany. She died before May 1701.
