Christina Wilhelmina came to America in 1865 or 1866 and to Oregon in 1882.
Wilhelmina was a member of the Lutheran church and was held in high esteem as a kind and loving friend and neighbor. Her death was due to stomach cancer from which she had suffered for about a year and a half.

Nothing is known about John Worth, except that the Waukon Democrat reported on 6 Mar 1884 that John Worth lost two fingers and a thumb in a buzzsaw.

Christina also married (2) Michael HOEFLICH on 25 Aug 1870 at Village Creek, Allamakee county, Iowa. Michael was born 6 Apr 1837 in Mutterstadt, Germany. He died 1 Mar 1915 in Salem, Linn county, Oregon and was buried 3 Mar 1915 in Albany, Oregon. Michael died following 11 months in the State Mental Hospital.
The marriage date recorded here for Christina Wilhelmina and Michael differs from the 1867 date recorded in a family Bible. Somebody edited the Bible record to "make things look legitimate".
Michael’s first wife was Maria Elisabetha SCHELLHORN "Liseth" who was born 13 Feb 1842 in Kohlof, Pfalz and died possibly 10 April 1866, place not known, probably Allamakee county, Iowa.
Michael “and Frau” came from Germany to America and Allamakee county in 1865, aboard the "Germania" from Hamburg.
He worked in a woolen mill in Allamakee county until 1872 and then moved his family to a farm in Harlan county, Nebraska. In 1882 the family went by train to Sacramento, California, and from there by team and wagon to Albany, Oregon. The family farm was located about five miles south and west of Albany.
The descendants of Christina (Engelhorn) Hoeflich all changed the spelling to Hoflich.

Herman was a retired employee of the telephone company and a veteran of World War I. He came to Oregon with his family at the age of one year. He was a 58 year member of the Albany Elks Lodge No. 359. He owned a confectionery in Albany in 1910.
Hermann married Fleta Audry STREET on 4 Mar 1944 in Los Angeles, California. Fleta was born 30 Aug 1890 in Streator, Illinois. She died 29 Apr 1964 in Albany, Oregon and was buried 1 May 1964 in Albany.
Fleta moved from Illinois to southern California and from there moved to Albany in 1944. She was a member and treasurer of Pythian Sisters and also a member of the Albany Women's Club
Carl married Estella VAUGHN on 24 May 1911 in Linn county, Oregon. Estella was born 22 Dec 1891 in Oregon. She died 8 Jan 1978 in Sublimity, Oregon.
Sometimes known as Lena, she married John Caldwell who was from a family of 17 children. Winnie Ohling could name them all.
Helena came to Oregon at the age of 16 and spent most of her life at Oak Creek and Plainview where her family had moved in 1904. She was a member of the Oak Creek Christian Church.

Helena married John Harvey CALDWELL, son of V. H. CALDWELL, on 9 Feb 1888 in Linn county, Oregon. John was born 20 Sep 1863 in Marion county, Oregon. He died 20 Aug 1903 in Albany, Oregon and was buried 22 Aug 1903 in Albany.
John Harvey died near Albany as the result of an accident on his farm when he was struck in the head by a wagon tongue while moving a wood saw.

Clarence married Bertha MCELROY in Tangent, Oregon.
Nellie was raised on a farm near Plainview in Linn county. She and Harry Gummow homesteaded in Catlow Valley 90 miles south of Burns, Oregon. In 1924 they were in Monterey, California, when extras were needed for a silent movie. The couple moved to Alsea and lived there until moving to Salem in 1934. In Salem she was a winder at a woolen mill and a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Nellie married (1) Harry GUMMOW on 25 Nov 1914. Harry died 1945.
Nellie also married (2) Clarence CURRIER on 4 Dec 1949. Clarence died 29 Dec 1961 in Marion county, Oregon.
George died in a one-car accident near Jefferson on the Marion-Turner highway when his car failed to make a curve. George was not married.
George moved with his parents to Nebraska in 1872 where they resided until 1882 when they came to Benton County, Oregon, later moving to Linn County in 1884 and Albany in 1910. George spent most of his life farming. He was a charter member of the Western Star Grange and also a member of I.O.O.F. and Rebekah Lodges and the Methodist Church.
George married Elva MILLHOLLEN on 21 Sep 1893 in Linn county, Oregon. Elva was born 8 Feb 1877 in , Benton, Oregon. She died 13 Feb 1936 in Benton county Oregon and was buried 15 Feb 1936 in Albany, Oregon.
Elva was born at the Oakville community in Benton County. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Millhollen, Oregon pioneers. She was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Rebekah, Neighbors of Woodcraft and Royal Neighbors lodges. For the six years preceding her death she had been matron at the W.T.C.U. Children's Farm home.

According to a family story, when Herthel's mother was a child she and a friend read a story about twin girls named Herthel and Merthel. They each decided to name their daughters that when they grew up. Merthel McConnel is Marvin's second cousin on his Underhill branch.

Theodore was known by his nickname, "Teet." He was a retired farmer and sawmill and gravel plant operator. Theodore and Maude were killed when their car pulled onto the Pacific Junction Highway and was struck by a tractor-trailer produce truck.
Teet married Maude Lillian DAVIS on 16 Feb 1898 in Albany, Oregon. Maude was born 25 Jan 1880 in Grand Junction, Iowa. She died 11 Dec 1957 in Albany, Oregon and was buried 14 Dec 1957 in Albany.

Faye was known as Laverne to friends and family. She grew up and lived all her life in the Albany, Lebanon, and Crabtree areas. She retired as secretary of the Albany First Christian Church where she was a lifelong member.
Laverne married Clarence Alfred BRUCKMAN on 16 Nov 1919 in Albany, Oregon. Clarence died 15 Mar 1959.
Gertrude married Merlyn F. MESMAN on 11 Aug 1929 in Albany, Oregon.
Elda married C. Edmond WILKINSON on 28 Jun 1932 in Albany, Oregon.
Mary and Bill located in eastern Oregon and became one of the wealthiest families of wheat growers in Wasco county. Marie had a bad accident while driving her new car and she did not recover.
Mary married William H. BURRES "Bill" on 3 Dec 1898 in Linn county, Oregon. Bill was born 19 Mar 1877 in Albany, Oregon. He died 20 May 1953 in Portland, Oregon and was buried 22 May 1953 in The Dalles, Oregon.
Bill Burres was a long-time wheat farmer in Sherman County, Oregon. He retired from farming in 1939 at age 62 and since then was owner and operator of an apartment court in Portland.
They had three children:
Rita taught elementary school and was a bookkeeper. She had lived at various times in Portland, Oregon; Dayton, and Spokane, Washington; and Burley, Idaho and was resident in Walla Walla, Washington at the time of her death. She was a member Sigma Kappa, Women's Athletic Association, Eastern Star and the Methodist church. Rita died from a single gunshot wound which authorities believed was self-inflicted.
Rita married Harland JOHNSON in 1926 in The Dalles, Oregon. Harland died 1975.
Wilhelm was known as William or Bill. He came to Albany with his family when a small boy and lived in that area all his life. He was employed by Mountain States Power Company for a number of years and later owned an electrical appliance store before becoming a realtor. Bill was a member of the First Methodist church and a 50 year member of the Albany Elks lodge. He was also former member of the Albany Realty Board.
Wilhelm married Myrtle MAXWELL on 10 Apr 1901 in Albany, Oregon. Myrtle was born 27 Nov 1881 in Albany, Oregon. She died 24 Jul 1968 in Albany and was buried 27 Jul 1968 in Albany.
Myrtle was a lifetime resident of the Albany area. She was a member of the Albany First Methodist church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Twentieth Century Book Club and the Pythian Sisters.

Frederick married (1) Stella May DELANCY on 19 Jan 1910 in Portland, Oregon. Stella was born 25 Sep 1891 in Coleridge, Nebraska. She died 18 Oct 1964 in Albany, Oregon and was buried 21 Oct 1964 in Albany.
Stella came to Albany with her family in 1899. After her marriage she devoted her life to her home and family. She was an excellent cook and a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren. She suffered from muscular dystrophy in the last years of her life. She was a member of Pythian Sisters.

Mox was the out of wedlock son of Michael Hoflich and Helena Dora Worth, Michael's stepdaughter. Mox was raised by his grandmother Christina as her own son.
Mox moved with his parents to Sacramento, California as an infant and in 1882 went to Philomath, Oregon by team and wagon. He moved to Albany in 1909 where he was drayman and trucker. For ten years he was sexton for the Albany Masonic Cemetery.
Mox married Arzelia SPRENGER on 6 Jun 1906 in Shedd, Oregon. Arzelia was born 8 Apr 1888 in Shedd, Oregon. She died 13 Mar 1973 in Albany, Oregon and was buried 16 Mar 1973 in Albany.
Arzelia's sister Mabel married Rudolf Hoflich.

Vergil lived all his life in Linn and Benton Counties. He worked for the Oregon State Highway Department Maintenance Division for 42 years, retiring in 1971. He later worked as a fire and equipment watchman for George Shroyer Logging Company for eight years. Vergil was a member of College United Methodist Church, Mary's River Grange and Philomath Senior Citizens Club, and had driven the senior citizen's Dial-A-Bus, and worked for the community nutrition program.

Minnie married Charles H. WILTSE. Charles was born about 1888 in North Dakota.

Vesta was a member of the First Methodist Church, American Gold Star Mothers and Order of Eastern Star.
Vesta married Ralph LeRoy BANTON, son of Charles E. BANTON and Clara, on 15 May 1918 in Corvallis, Oregon. Ralph was born about 1895 in Oregon. He died 17 Dec 1976.

Neva married Edmund Gill ANDERSON "Pete" on 11 Apr 1917 in Albany, Oregon. Pete was born 3 Feb 1892 in Albany, Oregon. He died 14 Oct 1923 in Corvallis, Oregon and was buried in Albany.
"Pete" Anderson was a well-known and popular football and track man during his undergraduate days and was remembered by many as a fast-playing, hard hitting center. He was named as all-northwest center for three years and in his last year was mentioned as all-American material. Pete graduated from O.A.C. in forestry and engineering in 1916. For several years prior to his death he was employed by a fuel company in Albany.
Pete was accidentally shot in the back by a hunting companion while pheasant hunting.

Lowell attended Wasco schools and Oregon State College at Corvallis. He was a wheat farmer and raised cattle.

Harold spent his childhood in the Albany area. He graduated from high school in 1920 and then attended the University of Oregon. He then went to the University of California to do graduate work in economics, obtaining his PhD degree in 1933; his dissertation was "The Investments of Life Insurance Companies Since 1906." He taught economics at universities of California, Hawaii and Arizona as well as at Kent State, Ohio, Montana, and St. Mary's College in California. He did economic research for the Federal Government and worked for the U.S Treasury Department and the office of Inter-American Affairs. In 1961 he finished work on an an American project sponsored by the Ford Foundation to bring academic assistance to the University of Indonesia in Jakarta, helping to develop their school of economics. In 1962 he was Director of Business Research at the University of Arizona.
Harold married (1) Lois E. CHRISTLEY on 24 Nov 1932 in Oakland, California. Lois was born about 1910 - 1912. At the time she was married Lois was a member of the branch staff of the Oakland public library.

Dorothy graduated from Albany College. She worked as a secretary for Silverwheel Freight Company in Albany and as a secretary at Washington Elementary School in Eugene, Oregon.
Dorothy married Robert Dana SAUNDERS Sr. on 11 Sep 1938 in Albany, Oregon. Robert was born 22 Dec 1914 in Umapine, Oregon. He died 20 Jul 1994 in Eugene, Oregon.
Robert attended college for three years in Albany and then was employed as a farm worker in eastern Oregon, a driver for Railway Express in Albany, and sales manager for McDonald Wholesale Company before his retirement. Saunders was a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and a member of the Shadow Hills Country Club. His interests included golf, cards, and gardening, and he enjoyed working as a volunteer.

Bob graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. degree and from Colorado State University with an M.S. degree. He was employed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for over 30 years in a variety of staff and management positions. He was also a family history researcher for more than 25 years.

Jerri has worked as a country club secretary, bank teller, and church secretary.
