Past Reunions

The 2012 Engelhorn / Englehorn family gathering was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico this year. Our most able hosts were Valerie Girard, Elinor Meyer, and their family.

There was much to see and do in Albuquerque. Many of us walked around the historic town square. We visited a number of museums. Some memorable ones are: the Museum of Natural History which provides a world class display of dinosaur skeletons; Albuquerque History Museum, which had a special exhibit of ancient Americas pottery; the Museum of Atomic History with well curated exhibits from the birth of atomic fusion, through the cold war, and today.

A number of us took the commuter train to Santa Fe for a delightful day of sightseeing. And there were hours spent hiking around at the top of the tram.

One night Valerie arranged for a BBQ dinner in the hotel. There was so much good food that we all decided to eat it a second night too!

When you mix our family with good museums and good food, the party is always a go. We are so grateful to Valerie, Tony, and their family for hosting such a wonderful reunion. I think we all agreed that we would like to come back to Albuquerque again.
